Local Government Services

The Local Directgov application holds a list of over 240 citizen-facing services that are provided by local councils in England.

The services are based on the Local Government Service List (LGSL) and the Local Government Interaction List (LGIL).

Links in the Local Directgov application are constructed based on a set of parameters taken from these lists. Each service is matched against its LGSL number, for example '57' for Council Tax, and its LGIL number, for example '2' for paying for something: http://local.direct.gov.uk/LDGRedirect/index.jsp?LGSL=57&LGIL=2

The spreadsheet below gives the LGSL and LGIL identifiers for each service in Local Directgov and indicates where a service is provided by all, district, or county/unitary councils. It includes a list of agency identifiers for each of the councils in England.

You can use this spreadsheet as a reference to create links to other councils in your area.
